People Tree takes Emma Watson to Bangladesh to visit the slum homes of garment factory workers. Emma also visits Fair Trade producer group Swallows to see how People Tree clothing is made. The end result is the new autumn winter collection which is endorsed by Emma Watson. Emma Watson said: ‘Although I wasn’t centrally involved in the design of this collection, I had great fun in helping People Tree select some gorgeous Fair Trade textiles — a dogtooth hand-woven check, cable knits, and the first Fair Trade hand-woven brushed checked fabric which has been made into easy tulip skirts, dresses and shirts. There are even a few party dresses, such as the little black satin tulip dress which can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion’ ‘Following my summer collection for People Tree I wanted to visit Bangladesh to see the difference Fair Trade makes. The contrast between the slums in Dhaka (the capital of Bangladesh) where the people who work in the garment factories live and Swallows (the Fair Trade community supported by People Tree) was all too apparent. I still find it hard to convey what Fair Trade means to those producing our fashion — it’s just so impressive to see how the women have used Fair Trade clothing to escape poverty and empower themselves and their children. I was moved and inspired.’

I’m glad to see having her as a role model was not in vain. I’m a year younger then she is, but even I doubt I’d immerse myself so completely in the charity work I might do with her kind of influence. Good on her, really. More girls should look up to being this kind of beautiful, and not the stereotypical hollywood type. Being smart and caring is beautiful!!
There are so many celebrities who fashion famous and expensive brand but she’s one of those who actually knows how clothes are made and what’s it worth for the one who makes it.
I love Emma<3 She is such a kind person to do this<3
Emma Watson > Lindsay Lohan
@loopylupin1130 Actually the British East India company first colonised the Indian subcontinent, it was only after the failed 1857 Sepoy mutiny that the British Govt took over with the creation of the Raj.
The British Empire has its foundations in trade. Bangladesh needs to wipe out 3/4 of its population, empower women and build infrastructure/education to develop.
Similar to the way the East Asian tigers have risen, as well as remove religion or lessen its influence on society.
She’s amazing. (: Why couldn’t there be more Emma Watson’s in this world?
i love emma shezz such a good role model
Emma is wonderful.
where can i get one of those in bangladesh? any store where they sell all these?
plz let me know
@maestro723 if i were able to do something, then i would.. but you’re right most people are just too damn lazy to do something
awesome job she did…… gotta admire her for that
@ImaginedWriter wiping out 3/4 of the population isn’t really realistic unless you are being sarcastic here. As for the “religion” factor Bangladesh is a fairly moderate country when it comes to that. If people wants to follow it they do … if they don’t, no one stops them.
The word is:Respect

Emma Watson is so amazing, wish I could’ve been able to see her when she visited. (selfishly speaking lol)
But dang, respect to her for being such a humanitarian. Is there nothing that isn’t magnificent about this girl! MashAllah. =)
Waccv.
They live there in poverty but I would like to visit there because the people are amazing.
And all this work they do alone – so artistic.
I wish – they will live more richly.
And respect Weston
i love you emma thanks for visiting my country
